BCC members, if you haven’t already, take a few minutes to sign our “big faces” at the club table just inside Gate 1 before the game. The game starts at 3:30pm. As there are a number of events occurring on campus Sunday and parking may be limited near the O’Dome, a shuttle service is being provided to and from the commuter parking lot on Lemerand Drive. From GatorZone.com:

“On Sunday, with Gator baseball wrapping up its series against Cal State Fullerton at 1 p.m. and Gator women’s basketball hosting nationally-ranked Georgia at 3:30 p.m. in its Play4Kay game, the shuttle service will again be in operation from the commuter lot on Gale Lemerand Drive beginning at 12 p.m.

The buses will stop at the corner of Gale Lemerand Drive and Stadium Road near Gate 2 of the O’Connell Center for access to the women’s basketball game. Fans heading to the baseball game can enter through the south gate at the Lemerand Center adjacent to McKethan Stadium. The shuttles will run for 30 minutes following the conclusion of the event which is completed last.”

WHAT: Reception with former Gator Players

1. Please check-in upon arrival.
2. Bring your membership badge/name tag (if you haven’t picked it up yet, it will be available for you).
3. Door prizes will be drawn from basketball raffle jar.
4. The coaches’ autographed basketball will be raffled off to a lucky BCC member!
5. Raffle tickets for “Dinner with Coach Butler” will continue to be sold until Feb 23. 
6. This is a BCC members only event.

Coach provided members with handouts to supplement his report. And, might we add, his breakdown was right on target.

You might notice Coach’s shirt and signature bow tie are purple for this game. January 15, 2012, marked the kickoff of “We Back Pat” Week, a national initiative focused on bringing awareness and recognition to the Pat Summitt Foundation Fund by the Southeastern Conference, in cooperation with its 12-member institutions. GatorTown Gators President Phil Clark presenting BCC member Cindy Flowers with Spirit of Service Award

BCC member Cindy Flowers was awarded the “Spirit of Service Award” by the GatorTown Gators during their Annual Awards Banquet on January 9, 2012. Cindy was nominated for her committment, hard work and dedication to the Gator Backcourt Club and to the Florida Women’s Basketball program.

As a member of the BCC since its infancy, Cindy has selflessly dedicated her time and energy to making the club a success. Her service to the BCC has been, and continues to be, significant. We are thrilled that she has been recognized for her hard work. Cindy is the first BCC member to win this award. Congratulations Cindy!

The Gator Backcourt Club was well represented by a number of members and Janna Magette was there representing Coach Butler and staff. Thank you to all who came out to celebrate Cindy’s achievement.

Did we mention “games” earlier? Yes, this year we wanted to make the event a bit more “interactive” between members and players. So, competitive games of skill, luck, and silliness were just the ticket…”Minute to Win It”. Thank you to Janna Magette for coordinating and facilitating the games!

This says it all…thank you to our Women’s Basketball family for joining us and for sharing a very memorable night at this year’s annual Winter Potluck event. Hope to see you next year! Go Gators!

We were treated to a complete two hour practice beginning with stretching exercises and ending with free throw practice.

After practice Coach Butler spoke to members and then Coach Lowery conducted our very first video scouting clinic.

Coach DLow handed out the scouting report and proceeded to prep us for the upcoming game. We all felt prepared to take on Hampton!

It’s not a party without food! BCC members, team and staff enjoyed fresh subs from Jimmy Johns. Yummo!

Players, members and staff enjoy their meal and each other’s company. It was a great turnout and everyone was in agreement… “same time next year!”.
